After breakfast at hotel, we will do some sightseeing by bicycles in Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city if Sri Lanka,
built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world heritage site. You can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the
Gal Viharaya - where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in "Upright", "Sedentary" and "Recumbent" postures carved out of rock,
the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, king Parakramabahu's statue, and the Parakrama Samudraya Lake built by King Parakramabahu
the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva
Temple, The Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic

Visiting Dambulla
Dambulla is a part of the Cultural
Triangle declared by UNESCO is on the main road from Sigiriya to Kandy
about 19Km from Sigiriya. There are over 80 caves in the surrounding and some of them have been used by the monks as meditation
locations. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain the statues and the paintings. Since it's founding in
the 1 century BC by King Valagamba, many improvements and additions have been carried out to the sculptures and paintings
over the years. Hindu statues are believed to be of the 12 century AD and the latest paintings are of the late 18-century.
The temple is a perfect location to view evolution of the ancient Sri Lankan arts. Dambulla is a unique and important historical
site because of the amalgamation of the material from many eras

Beautiful hill country and see Sri Lanka
at it’s best. And one of the most beautiful Views of north and south can be seen in this walk. This walk is 6 hours,

so healthy. You’ll be surely tempted to sample the produce.
Locals work relentlessly tending to the Paddy as you wind your way through their environment. The walk will take about
three hours back to the hotel and relax during the afternoon
Get ready for the real experience of natural Spiritual healing of Sri Lanka as this is a life time experience. The healing will start after
6,pm and can go on for hours
Gurunnanse (Shaman, Healer) master of ceremonies — holds out a
pouch of flammable powder for dancers to light their torches. Fire dancers bend backwards as they lower flaming torches into
their mouths, brightly costumed performers in fearsome, elaborate masks and a Yakka or devil, all dancing and moving to the
music and rhythmic beating of Yak Bera drums — these are the sights and sounds of the Devil Dance, known as the ‘Daha
Ata Sanniya,’ a carefully crafted ritual with a history reaching far back into Sri Lanka’s pre-Buddhist past.
The Daha Ata Sanniya is a traditional dance ritual that combines mythical ideas held for
the exorcism of 18 types of diseases from the human body, employing deft psychological manipulation, as exorcists wear masks
depicting the demons thought to be responsible for a person’s ailments.
Occasionally the full accompaniment of 18 possible disease demons is represented in the ceremony,
but a smaller number are usually used according to which demons are thought to be afflicting the person. The exorcism ends
with the appearance of an exorcist wearing the mask of the chief demon called Maha Kola which typically incorporates miniature
representations of the other 18 demons within it.
The tovil is performed by exorcists, combating diseases believed to be caused by demons and
ghosts. An arena is set symbolizing the forest — a favorite haunting place for demons — prepared on level ground
near the patient’s house with a canopy, shrines, and trays for spirit offerings decorated with leaves, strips of banana
stem and coconut fronds. A pallet for the patient is set at one end of the arena.
The senior exorcist is commonly accompanied by several younger men who do most of the singing
and dancing and 1 or 2 drummers. The dancers wear bright colored costumes and facial makeup, bearing tufts of young coconut
leaves or burning torches soaked in coconut oil as smoke and the smell of incense fill the air. The tovil drum, a reed flute,
bells and jingles tied to the arms and ankles complete the dancer’s equipment.
The dancing begins slowly and progressively grows livelier, while the singing, chanting of
spells and charms, and presentations to gods and demons are interlaced with spirited dancing and loud drumming.
The afflicted may become possessed by a demon and dance to the rhythm of the drums as they
shout, scream, march, beat their breasts and burn their offering. The patient must be settled, the gods appeased and the demons
conjured, all before sunrise, if a cure is to be achieved.
The island of Sri Lanka professes to have been a favorite haunt of aliens, extra terrestrials, gods,
angels, sky dwellers, demons and deities. Their chronicles, traditions, folklore, prehistoric cave drawings, archaeological
evidence and ancient traveler’s’ records claim that there have been strange beings living on this island from
time immemorial. There were and are allegations to mountains, hills, buildings and even plants filled with mysteries, power
and wisdom which are beyond human understanding.
Day 9-Kataragama, Spiritual relaxation, healing forces, building energy
By the end of the tovil we may be very tired and sleepy,so we will rest in the hotel and after a late breakfast and
we will visit Kataragama via the famous Ella gap and Ravana Ella water falland
after about three hours drive we will arrive in Kataragama for a cup of tea in the hotel and a little rest after which we
hope go and visit the sacred city for the evening Pooja, the holy ceremony with the basket of offerings ,fruits,flowers and
sweet smelling jos-sticks. After visiting temples over night we stay in a hotel

Kataragama is a place of great religious and cultural interest, where three major religions
meet – Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. People from different religions come here to worship in their own way, either in
the ancient shrines themselves or in their own places of worship, without a trace of rivalry or animosity. It is truly a unique
place in the world today. Apart from the festival time, Kataragama is busiest with pilgrims at weekends and on poya days (full
moon holidays).

Buddhists believe Kataragama is one of the 16 principal
places of Buddhist pilgrimage in Sri Lanka.
The Buddha is said to have visited Kataragama and meditated there to sanctify the place. King Mahasena met the Lord Buddha
there and listened to The Buddha’s doctrine. As a token of gratitude the a Dagoba was built on the exact spot where
The Buddha sat.

Hindu’s call this place, is revered as a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site, famous for its fire walkers and water cutting
ceremonies during the predominantly Hindu Festival in July and August. To participate in the festival, pilgrims walk from

hang themselves from beams by hooks piercing their backs. Such practices, meant for atonement for sins and for the purpose

The sanctity attached to the place by local Muslims revolves
around a mysterious being called Al-Khidr or 'The Green One'. Muslim imams do not agree on exactly who he was. Some say he
is a prophet while others say he is a “wali” meaning one who is close to God, in other words, a saint. His presence
is believed to pervade the sanctuary with which he is associated, namely, the Khalir Makam in the Muslim quarter of Kataragama
not far from the Menik Ganga (the river). Indeed, there are those who believe that it was this Khidr who gave his name to
Kataragama.

"Recumbent" postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, king Parakramabahu's statue, and the Parakrama
Samudraya Lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, The Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera

Day 4-- Habarana or Polonnaruwa
Visit to 5th Century rock fortress of Sigiriya. A World Heritage Site is
now one of Sri Lankas major attractions rising two hundred meters from the jungle floor. At its base, surrounding the extensive
gardens, ramparts and a moat protect the rock fortress. During our visit to this unique complex we will see , water gardens, ancient frescos, the stone mirror wall and the lion platform and for the fittest a climb
up to the summit.,

This is a 60 hectare (147 acre) garden and is the largest in Sri Lanka.

in biotechnology, ecology, conservation and taxonomy. The history of the gardens dates to 1371, when royalty shifted the court
to Peradeniya and subsequently, when King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe (1741-1780) made them into royal gardens. Their modern history
started when a garden named Kew was started at Slave Island
in Colombo, and then shifted to Kalutara due to space restrictions.
In 1821 these gardens were shifted to Peradeniya by Alexander Moon. With tree lined avenues and drive and a variety of flowers,
